Time of your life

What if you could achieve more, while feeling less rushed?

Here below you’ll find all the steps (which we encourage you to take in order) to complete the exploration. You will need to come to this page again, so make sure you save the link!

Day 1

A) Let's begin

First off, watch this intro video:

B) The 16 myths

Then it’s time to dive into the “16 myths about time”. Remember: listen to hear something new, not to agree/disagree/understand.

Here’s a downloadable PDF with the 16 Myths:

C) Stop and reflect

Take a moment and write on a piece of paper the answers to the following questions:

  • Which myths resonated with you the most?
  • What struck you?
  • What did you notice?

[Note: you can use the Insight Jar to share your reflections with us]

That’s it for now. Come back tomorrow, when we’ll share 3 metaphors and a few practices to play with.

Day 2 - 4

D) Images

E) Words

The relationship between time and thriving has been considered thorughout the centuries. Take a few minutes to read these 3 extracts spanning between almost 200 years of human history, from Kierkegaard to Hesse.

If you want, you can download the file here.

F) Practices

Pick three daily practices from the list below and play with them for the next 3 days. At the end of each day, write down what you noticed.

[Note: you can use the Insight Jar to share your reflections with us]

  • Take 5 minutes, at three times today;
  • The Joy of Missing out: purposely leave something out today. Miss out on something. Go to a gallery and look at one painting only.
  • Pick two things from your to do list. Just do them. Stop for the day;
  • Navigate by obviousness: anything that it’s not a clear yes, it’s a Hell No for today;
  • Be in love: go through your day and tasks like you were madly in love. Let that guide you on what to do and how;
  • Second chance. Imagine you’re back from a NDE: choose your tasks and how you spend your time accordingly;
  • See as many “new things in the old” as you can (example: what can you see fresh about your house, your partner, your job, your city, etc?);
  • Purposely let go of shortcuts and pick the long way of doing something today;

Day 5

G) Same myths, new you

Go through the 16 Myths again. Watch the video and/or read the PDF like it’s the first time you see it.

H) Going upstream - Final words

Here’s the last video for this month. Some pointers to see what’s truly behind our notion of time and what’s on offer when we see through it.

From “The writing life” by Annie Dillard:

“Rembrandt and Shakespeare, Tolstoy and Gauguin, possessed, I believe, powerful hearts, not powerful wills. They loved the range of materials they used.

The work’s possibilities excited them; the field’s complexities fired their imaginations.

The caring suggested the tasks; the tasks suggested the schedules. They learned their fields and then loved them. They worked, respectfully, out of their love and knowledge, and they produced complex bodies of work that endure.”
